Rock Filled Filter bags
For optimum protection against scour MSS have recently installed Kyowa Filter bags provided by Ridgeway Renewables for EDF Energy Renewables at the Teesside Offshore Windfarm. The system can also be used in rivers, to protect bridge structures etc. and on coastal locations to prevent scour.
The nylon and polyester filter bag is made from 61% recycled polyester and filled with stone, to provide a stable yet flexible structure that requires no bed leveling or dredging prior to installation.
The product is environmentally friendly and has been certified by FEPA (Food & Environment Protection Agency) and DEFRA (Department of Environment, Fisheries & Rural Affairs).
MSS’s Patent Applied technique for scour protection delivery provides a perfect solution for new installations, retrofitting or remedial work wherever effects of scour are encountered.
For the Teesside Offshore Windfarm MSS employed the 7000te DP2 Maersk Responder, a specialist subsea construction vessel. The use of this vessel resulted in the Scour Protection Project team completing the project both safely, on budget and ahead of schedule.
On completion of the work the EDF Energy Renewables Project Manager for the Teesside Offshore Windfarm, Tim Bland, thanked the team at MSS for the “brilliantly executed job”.
